Grenadier Packaging acquires MM Packaging Leeuwarden
On 31 December, Grenadier Packaging (UK) completed the acquisition of MM Packaging Leeuwarden (Netherlands), owned by Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG (“MM”), which has 52 employees.
MM Packaging Leeuwarden is a long-established operation with a strong reputation for quality folding carton production and long-standing customer relationships across the Dutch and broader European market. Under Grenadier Packaging’s ownership, the Leeuwarden business will continue to operate as a dedicated standalone operation from its existing site in the Netherlands, with a clear focus on long-term stability and investment and full continuity of supply, product quality, and service for customers. MM Packaging Leeuwarden employs 52 people.
The acquisition builds on Grenadier Packaging’s proven M&A track record, with six acquisitions completed to date and a continued focus on pursuing further strategic opportunities.
This acquisition represents a considered step in extending Grenadier Packaging’s footprint beyond the UK, allowing us to better support customers operating across European markets and to build a more resilient, diversified packaging group- said Aidan Cahill, Joint Managing Director of Grenadier Packaging - Our focus remains on continuity – giving our support to the existing team, maintaining service levels, and investing responsibly over time.
The Leeuwarden site will remain focused on its current product portfolio and customer base, with no immediate changes planned to day-to-day operations, management structure, or supplier relationships.
