Maurizio Bertocco named as UCIMA President-designate

The successor to Riccardo Cavanna at the helm of the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers’ association for the 2026–2030 term will be elected in July during the Annual General Meeting

The Nomination Committee of UCIMA (the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association) has identified Maurizio Bertocco, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ILPRA SpA, as the candidate for the Association’s presidency for the 2026–2030 term.

The Board of Directors, which met on April 15, expressed its favorable opinion on submitting the nomination to the General Assembly, scheduled for July 2, 2026. It will be on that occasion that Bertocco’s official appointment is expected to take place, marking the handover from the current President, Riccardo Cavanna, who has led the association with authority and strategic vision throughout his term.

With this nomination, UCIMA intends to continue strengthening its role as a key reference point for the sector, in an increasingly complex and competitive market environment, where strong and authoritative collective representation is not only an added value for member companies, but a fundamental strategic lever to compete in international markets.

Today, UCIMA is a recognized international benchmark for the packaging sector,” said Maurizio Bertocco. “Taking over from Riccardo Cavanna is both an honor and a responsibility that I approach with great determination. My commitment will be to further strengthen the Association’s role by supporting the competitiveness of member companies and guiding the sector through the challenges of technological innovation and sustainability, with the aim of continuing to enhance the global presence and reputation of Italian packaging.”

Maurizio Bertocco is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ILPRA SpA, an innovative SME based in Mortara (Pavia), founded in 1955 and listed on the stock exchange, active in the production and sale of packaging machinery for the food, cosmetics and medical sectors. Bertocco has led the company since the 1980s, supporting its expansion across European and international markets, where it is now present in 130 countries.
