PLAST 2023: the challenge is won

A successful edition for the international event dedicated to the plastics and rubber industry.

50,000 net m² of exhibition surface area, 38,000 visitors, 1323 exhibitors: these are the summary numbers of PLAST, which in the 2023 edition (5-8 September, Milano Rho Trade Fair) reconfirmed its role as an important event also thanks to the strong international presence, equal to 47% of the total, enriched with 300 buyers coordinated by the ICE Agency (Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian enterprises). There was also a considerable number of foreign visitors, with 26% of guests coming from as many as 109 countries. Among these, Europe predominates with 63.89%, Asia was present with a significant 20.22%, Africa accounted for 7.58% of those present, closely followed by America at 7.56% and Oceania with 0.75%.

Public selectivity and technological offer

The excellent result of the 2023 edition has been achieved in a context characterized by various organizational and market changes compared to the previous edition, first of all the imposed choice of dates, coinciding with the first week of September.

Also, not to be forgotten is the general post-pandemic trend towards remote business approaches, which has led to significant falls in terms of visitors and exhibitors for major international trade shows. It’s a physiological trend driven by new business management habits, but is also an indicator of greater selection on the part of professionals, who today move mainly for events that they consider to be strategic. PLAST’s attendance data confirm its credibility in this sense.
