Aliplast at Ecomondo 2025: turning plastic back into a resource
In Rimini we met Ceo Michele Petrone from Aliplast, a leading company in plastic regeneration

Between new plants, advanced materials and supply chain projects, the goal is to close the loop and make recycling a concrete industrial model.
"2025 has been a year of consolidation", Petrone told us among the pavilions of the Rimini exhibition. "With the expansion of the Borgolavezzaro site and the construction of the new Modena plant, which will be operational in 2026. These two investments will allow us to increase production capacity and expand the range of materials we process, from PET to rigid plastics".
Aliplast oversees the entire recycling cycle - from waste collection to finished products -focusing on quality, traceability and innovation. "We are developing high-performance regenerated materials for packaging, automotive and electronics, capable of competing with virgin polymers", Petrone underlined.
Regarding the new European SUP and PPWR regulations, Petrone is clear: "Clearer rules help distinguish those who truly invest in sustainability. But we need infrastructure and collaboration to make recycling a systemic choice".
Among the most innovative projects presented at Ecomondo is the collaboration with Imbotex, which applies the circular model to textiles, regenerating PET bottles into flakes and then fibres to be used as padding in sportswear. "We want to be a system player,” Petrone summarized, "able to promote replicable industrial models and to prove that plastic can truly become a resource worth investing in".
