Product overview. A case packer with a picking system based on Electro-Adhesive Layer technology, paired with a Smart Surface for transparent communication of energy consumption. Without compromising on performance, it enables manufacturers to provide tangible proof of their commitment to sustainability.

Innovation. The EALPACK device replaces conventional vacuum grippers used for carton handling. It employs a thin film that becomes adhesive through electrostatic activation. The EcoFriendly display complements the device by showing the machine’s energy consumption in real time.

Materials used. Painted tubular steel frame, safety guards made from anodised aluminium profiles and Lexan panels, stainless steel mechanical assemblies, handcrafted glass display and polymer-based gripping modules with embedded printed electronics.

Technologies. Mechanical movements, electrical design and control software developed by Altopack SpA, EAAL-powered mechatronic gripping system specifically engineered for this application by Adaptronics Srl, glass display with touch interface and LED indicators developed by Èlevit Srl.

Environmental benefits. By adopting electro-adhesive technology, the gripping unit’s energy consumption is reduced by an order of magnitude, dropping from kilowatts to watts. The energy monitoring system measures power supply parameters and translates them into meaningful data for assessing the environmental footprint of production.
