Addressing the new packaging regulation
The “Regolamento imballaggi e impatto per la filiera del packaging” (Regulation for the packaging supply chain) meeting was hosted by the Galdi company on 9 February, an important opportunity for exchange between institutional operators, stakeholders and end-users, each affected in different ways by the still uncertain consequences of the new European regulation on packaging.
Amaplast, Ucima and Confindustria for East Veneto highlighted, in fact, critical areas, possible evolutions and new market scenarios, comparing views and opinions on the actions in progress at institutional level operated by Confindustria. An in-depth analysis of the directive was carried out by interest groups such as EUROPEN (The European Organization for Packaging and the Environment) and with category associations such as Giflex. The point of view of the end-users, Labomar and Latterie Montello (Nonno Nanni), operators present on the market, was of fundamental importance, offering a picture of the problems connected with the concept of reuse applied to critical sectors such as the pharmaceutical and dairy industries. The themes discussed at the conference will be dealt with in more detail in the next issue of Italiaimballaggio.
