Sibeg Coca-Cola chooses Sidel for its first aseptic PET line

The project marks an important step towards production autonomy and the Sicilian company's commitment to the environment.

Sibeg Srl, the official bottler of The Coca-Cola Company in Sicily, has chosen Sidel as its technology partner for the installation of its first complete aseptic PET bottling line. The project, which integrates Aseptic Combi Predis™, EvoFilm™ Stretch, and PalKombi solutions, marks a strategic step toward innovation and the achievement of the company’s ambitious sustainability goals.

Founded in 1960 and based in Catania, Sibeg employs around 400 people and operates eight production lines for soft drinks, energy drinks, and water, serving over 24,500 retail outlets across Sicily. The company stands out for its focus on quality, customization for Sicilian consumers, and environmental commitment: it aims to achieve zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and full carbon neutrality by 2032.

The new 18,000 bottles-per-hour line allows Sibeg to internalize the production of sensitive beverages, reducing environmental impact and reliance on external suppliers. Thanks to dry preform decontamination using hydrogen peroxide vapor, Aseptic Combi Predis™ ensures preservative-free food safety, operational efficiency, and flexibility across ten product formats.

EvoFilm™ Stretch revolutionizes shrink-wrapping with stretch film, eliminating heat tunnels and reducing energy consumption by 90% and plastic use by 60%. Finally, the Evo-ON Flex software simplifies format changes and optimizes real-time productivity.
